As an instructor for Psychology of Success class, what is important about this class is the opportunity for self-discovery among students. We do not only focus on weaknesses, rather, we want to emphasize on strengths and how such qualities are going to help a person, student, and professional succeed in their endeavors. What is success anyways?

The meaning of success can vary from one person to another. I cannot tell you what success is for you. With this being said, never allow anyone or anything dictate what success means for you. You define and determine what success is. Your strengths, your goals, your success!

By harnessing your strengths, you will be able to develop your skills and competencies while building the road to a successful you. One thing though, success does not come easy. It takes time, dedication, and a lot of hard work. And, do not forget, success does not happen without failure. Failing is not a bad thing. Learn from your failures. If you have not failed, then you have not left your comfort zone.

In the future, I want to be able to talk about all my failures and what I learned from them, and how I achieved my own success -- success not based on other people's perspective.

Want to learn about my strengths? These are the results from the Clifton StrengthsFinder Survey.

My Team Strengths:
  • Strategic Thinking

Those with dominant Strategic Thinking themes are the ones who keep the team focused on what could be. They are constantly absorbing and analyzing information and helping the team make better decisions. People with strength in this domain continually stretch the team’s thinking for the future.

  • Executing

Executing domain know how to make things happen. When the team needs someone to implement a solution, these are the people who will work tirelessly to get it done. Those with a strength to execute have the ability to “catch” an idea and make it a reality.
